    Online Host Leader

    2021 – Present

As the Online Host Leader, I work in collaboration with Pastoral Staff in order to coach, equip, care, pray for, and support a defined group of Online Hosts. I am primarily responsible for encouraging, mentoring, and empowering Online Hosts. I also play a key role in assisting the Connections Pastor with the development, refinement and communication of key site vision and strategic focus points and initiatives, especially in regard to the Online Host strategy for services.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    • Attend meetings with the Connections Pastor. These meetings are an opportunity for me to share encouragements and challenges, give feedback, discuss direction, vision and resourcing and pray for Online Hosts. I also reach out between meetings if I need more immediate feedback.
    • Meet with Online Hosts. This is an occasional check-in to see how the Online Hosts are doing personally, see what’s happening relationally, at work, at home, and what God has been saying to them
    • Look back – recap what has happened since the last meeting, what is going well, where opportunities are opening up, and where there has been progress.
    • Look around – see what is happening currently to see what are the most important one or two things to be working on right now that will have the greatest impact.
    • Look ahead – see what are some key goals and action steps to put in place.
    • Pray for the Online Host.
    • Help with regular administration and communication. Although the Pastoral Team is ultimately responsible for the flow of communication to Online Hosts, the information is given to me from time to time to help in communication and obtaining feedback on important events, issues or questions. This includes gathering and providing the information needed for service and getting it to the Online Hosts before service starts each week.
    • Supporting the Online Hosts as they serve each week. This includes (but is not limited to) answering questions they have in regard to handling different situations that arise each week and covering for them if they are experiencing technical issues and cannot immediately sign in.

    Highfield Baptist Church

    Chair of Evangelism Committee /
    Created Online Presence

    2017 – 2021

As Chair of the Evangelism Committee, I helped think of and implement outreach ideas. I also helped create/grow the church’s online presence.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

    • Helped plan and implement a Live Nativity outreach.
    • Helped plan and implement an Easter Outreach with the Next Gen Pastor which included creating an animated video giving an overview of Easter from Creation to the Resurrection.
    • Helped manage the YouTube channel which I used to set up live stream.
    • Developed a new responsive WordPress site with an Events calendar and a Services section where users can watch live and past services (this site is no longer being used).

    • Helped manage and grow the Facebook page by increasing activity.
    • Developed a new responsive WordPress site for a ministry that raises money to send underprivileged children to camp (the ministry is no longer running).
    • Developed a new responsive online forum using WordPress that operated like a social media site. The site was to be used as an online space for people who have questions about God, are interested in learning about God, but for one reason or another will not go to a church. Part of this was filming and editing weekly videos which were summaries of that week’s message. The pastor I was working on this with was moving on and the congregation and leadership didn’t support the outreach so we took it down.

    • Managed all of the church’s websites. This included keeping content, WordPress, themes, and plugins up-to-date, as we as creating imagery to be used on the site.
    • Helped in the sound booth during services and special events.
    • Led and hosted small group studies.

    Personal Outreach

Taking Part In The Great Commission

    2017 – Present

My wife and I try to be intentional with sharing the Gospel with others and/or inviting people to church and are always looking for different ways.

    Some of the ways are:

    • Sharing church service on social media each week.
    • Paying for orders of those behind us in the drive-thru and asking the people working to give them an invite card for church.
    • Watching social media for people who are in need and putting tracts in what we deliver to them.
    • During COVID lockdowns we set up a site that walks people through the Gospel and next steps. We would then hand out little envelopes with $5 Tim Hortons gift cards and tracts with links that take them to the website. We also got masks made with the websites domain which we wore during mask mandates. The site is currently down as I am combining it with two other sites I have.
    • Look for meaningful ways to have conversations during the day.
